South Africa
Healthcare
Medical care in South Africa is paid for direct (i.e. payment is sorted out before or directly after treatment), so it is strongly advised that you take out travel insurance that will cover medical care before travelling.
You should consult with your GP before you travel to ensure that you are up to date with all relevant vaccinations, although South Africa requires no set vaccinations before admitting visitors to the country. It is highly encouraged that you organise anti-malarial medication if you will be travelling to a malarial area.
Treatments for minor injuries and ailments are readily found at chemists and pharmacies, where you can also purchase mosquito repellents and sun block/after sun.
