14 Night SCUBA Diving and Safari Experience
Introduction

The ultimate in exploration packages, the 14 night SCUBA Diving and Safari Experience offers an in depth package that allows for a truly intimate experience with the wildlife of South Africa. The trip visits two of the top rated dive spots in the world, Aliwal Shoal and Sodwana Bay, before moving on to the safari stage of your experience at one of two luxury Game Lodges and the world renowned Hluhluwe Game Reserve.

Aliwal Shoal provides some of the most challenging but beautiful diving in the world, and boasts a very impressive array of sealife including whales, sharks, eels, rays and many species of fish and coral. Not to be beaten is Sodwana Bay, which offers a more diverse array of marine life than the Great Barrier Reef of Australia and is truly a must for divers all over the world. The marine life here includes countless species of fish, eels, turtles, rays and octopuses, as well as some spectacular coral formations. Among the many sharks found off the South African coastline species commonly found around both Aliwal Shoal and Sodwana Bay include ragged tooth sharks, whale sharks, tiger sharks and the occasional great white.

After having had the chance to fully appreciate the beautiful diving offered by Aliwal Shoal and Sodwana Bay you will be transferred to your choice of either Ubizane Game Reserve or the fully inclusive luxury camp of Mkuze Falls Game Lodge where you will spend 2 nights. Both camps are absolutely stunning and cater for different budgets – the Zululand Safari Lodge at Ubizane is gorgeous and accommodates visitors on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis. The chalets are very comfortable and the onsite swimming pool and surrounding scenery will make your stay one to remember. You will be taken on three game drives during your stay here (included in the price) before being transferred on to the final leg of your journey at Hluhluwe Game Reserve. Accommodation at Ubizane constitutes the more affordable option for these 2 nights.

Alternatively you can relax in extreme luxury at the 5 star Mkuze Falls Game Lodge in the Mkuze Falls Reserve, where you will be accommodated in extreme finery and pampered during your stay. Accommodation at Mkuze Falls Game Lodge is fully inclusive and offers those with a higher budget a deluxe bush experience to be treasured. Three game drives are also included in the package if you elect to stay at Mkuze Falls Game Lodge.

After two nights at either Ubizane or Mkuze you will be transferred to Hluhluwe Game Reserve, where you will spend the last three nights of your trip at the beautiful Hilltop Camp. Hluhluwe is a Big 5 game reserve that has so much to offer travellers from around the world in the way of animals, birds and other wildlife that you won’t want to leave. During your time here you will enjoy 5 safari game drives in open top vehicles led by qualified and experienced field guides. These game drives allow guests to experience the true bush experience as closely as possible, whilst the guides will interpret the animal’s behaviour as effectively as they can to give you a really special educational session.

Hluhluwe is a Big 5 reserve (and therefore contains lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo) set atop one of the largest hills in the park, and is specifically famous for its white rhino population. It is one of the best parks to visit in South Africa for its flora, birdlife and numerous smaller but incredibly interesting animal species. You can end each day relaxing with a drink on the central veranda, overlooking the surrounding hills and watching the glorious golden sunset behind the distant mountains in absolute peace. • 2 nights at an Mkuze game reserve, either at Ubizane Wildlife Reserve or in complete luxury at the 5* Mkuze Falls Game Lodge in the Mkuze Falls Game Reserve.
