This years Dive Fest took place from Friday 30th April to Monday 3rd of May and was a resounding success, with beautiful sunshine making diving an absolute delight. Despite some cloud cover and reasonably cool temperatures, hundreds of people enjoyed the dive festival at Pentewan Sands in Cornwall, taking in some of the most beautiful SCUBA diving in the country and indulging in some great party life in the evenings!

Surf and Turf Safaris had a stall in the main hub and had great fun chatting to all the divers who came by, still fresh with excitement from getting off the boat from the most recent dives. The main hub was a hive of activity to occupy folks between dives, or to offer entertainment to those who were accompanying divers (but for some reason don’t dive themselves).

The opening party on Friday night was reasonably gentle to ease everyone into a weekend of fun, including opening music by girl band Eden who were then followed by the People’s String Foundation.

Saturday evening was a lot livelier, starting with a delicious curry meal (free for all ticket holders), followed by live music, a fire dance presentation from Poi Passion and ending up with a stunning bonfire on the beach under the Cornish stars.

Sunday evening gave stiff competition though and the Caribbean party went down an absolute treat. The evening’s entertainment was hosted by the Cayman Islands and began with the fun yet thought provoking movie Cayman Went. Party spirits were then lifted with free rum tasting, a gorgeous Caribbean meal and reggae band who got everyone in the room on their feet and enjoying the beat. The fancy dress theme for the evening was pirates and fantastic prizes were given to all the best entrants.

The Dive Fest was a huge success and we are really glad we had a stall there. Thanks to all those who came by and we look forward to seeing you all next year!
