Protea Banks
Introduction

Situated on the south coast of KwaZulu Natal, approximately an hour drive south of Durban, Shelly Beach is world famous for the dive sites of Protea Banks. Diving here is only open to Advanced Open Water Divers or above as all dives are deeper than 18m. It is one of the best spots in the world to see many varieties of shark, as well as arrays of beautiful coral. The area is also ideal for fishing enthusiasts (both rock and surf), whale and dolphin watching expeditions, pleasure cruises and relaxing on one of the five stunning blue flag beaches in the local area.
